I don’t know about you, but I love dressing my daughters.  It brings me back to the days that I played dress up with my own dolls.

Kids are cute in pretty much everything, but I love to mix and match things and make my children photo ready without having to do much.  For me, an accessory can take a blah or ordinary outfit into something extra special.

While my parents and in-laws spoil my kids with brand name designer clothing like Jacadi (which are not really meant to be worn all the time), I like to buy clothes that are functional, comfortable and extra cute.  I frequent stores like Pumpkin Patch, GapKids, H&M, Target, Macy’s, and Crazy8.  They always have great sales and variety.

Take a look at the outfit below.  It’s a good example of what you would see my daughters wearing on a normal day.  There’s not too much styling and the outfit is quite adorable when put together.

You don’t always have to dress up in order to look cute. Over the years, I’ve figured out that pairing something that’s normally considered dressy with something normally considered casual make for quite the combo. These Dolce Vita Tulua wedges are my faves, unfortunately I had to return mine because it came without a shoe lace.  Always mix and match because you can be cute without giving up comfort!

As a mom, there comes a time when you just want to throw out all the stretchable clothing that carried you from pre to post pregnancy.  For me, dressing cute and being fashion forward makes me feel better emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.  It brings out my true personality and when I wear things that make me feel good, I definitely walk differently (you know that extra kick  to your step).

My inspiration for “Saturday at The Park” was just that.  Going to the park with my kids, but not sacrificing my style sense .  I know a lot of moms (myself, included) are accustomed to wearing casual jeans and a t-shirt to the park, but how about taking it up a notch (at least, once in awhile).
